Isaiah 35:8speaks of this highway.
8 A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it(the unrighteous cannot go there), but it shallbe for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, shall not go astray.
I John 2:16
16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. (These traits are a large part of society today!)
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming(this is the only answer to our dilemma) toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (Good news!)
I Peter 2:24-25
24 who Himself(Jesus)bore our sins in His own body(every sin we will ever commit died with Him on the cross if we repent) on the tree(cursed is the man that hangs on a tree scripture informs us. He therefore took the curses brought on man for our sin and rebellion on Himself as well setting man free of them), that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. (Believe me, we learn to love and appreciate Him even more as we try to walk in God's will. It is easy to change our ideology but it is not easy to change our traits as we were all shaped by Satan's knowledge.)
25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls(he is speaking to those that seek His help and want to know Him more intimately).
I Corinthians 5:7
7 Therefore purge out the old leaven(repent), that you may be a new lump(become a new creature, a new species), since you truly are unleavened(by the blood of the Lamb, freed from sin's hold on us). For indeed Christ, ourPassover, was sacrificed for us. (He gave His life to reverse all the negative passovers, to give man a second chance to choose life over death and bring restoration.)
I John 2:15-17therefore warns,
15 Do notlove the worldorthe things in the world. If anyoneloves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world(the world belongs to the enemy).
17 And the world is passing away(God says it will be destroyed), andthe lust of it; but he who does the will of Godabides forever(Let's be one of these!).
2 And do not be conformed to this world(don't seek its knowledge or personal information from it or its people), but be transformed by the renewing of your mind(take in God's knowledge, clean out the world's thinking, take advice from the Kingdom educated), that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God(become evidence for God's Kingdom).
Without humanity partaking of the feast of Passover, separating from the world and entering into God's rest man is doomed. There is no security in this world, it is a mess and yet how can any man fix the world! How can we mend what God says He will annihilate? We cannot! We have tried over and over again to better the world and things just got worse! For instance, what was considered sinful ten years ago is the accepted norm now. Think about this. Man's dress, their speech, their manners and morals have degenerated drastically and they think they can change things for the better? When is humanity going to understand the hopelessness of our condition? Man in whatever position he occupies cannot nullify what God has announced He will do! That is a fact and a spiritual law! Let us look at a man that years ago tried to change God's declaration. Josiah, who was a good man, a righteous king, one that wanted to keep God's law and walk in His will and lead the people back into God's grace. But here is what happened. First let us look at God's decree.
II Kings 22:16-17
16 “Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I willbring calamity on this placeandon its inhabitants—all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read—
17 becausethey have forsaken Me and burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands. Therefore My wrath shall be aroused against this placeandshall not be quenched.’”’ (Pretty plain!)
We see Josiah's good intentions inII Kings 23:3.
3 Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord and to keep His commandments and His testimoniesandHis statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenantthat were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant. (but itwastoolate!)
Let us continue in readingII Kings 23:21-25.
21 Then the king commanded all the people, saying, “Keep the Passover to the Lord your God, as it is written in this Book of the Covenant.”
22 Such a Passover surely had never been held since the days of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel and the kings of Judah.
23 But in the eighteenth year of King Josiah this Passover was held before the Lord in Jerusalem.
24 MoreoverJosiah put away those who consulted mediums and spiritists, the household gods and idols, all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord.
25 Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any ariselike him.
But .. did this change anything?
II Kings 23:26-27tells us,
26 Neverthelessthe Lord did not turn from the fierceness of His great wrath, with which His anger was aroused against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked Him.
27 And the Lord said, “I will also remove Judah from My sight, as Ihave removed Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, andthe house of which I said, ‘My name shall be there.’” (God had spoken.)
What happened to Josiah? He died fighting for what he thought was a good cause.
II Kings 23:29
29 In his days Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt went to the aid of the king of Assyria, to the River Euphrates; and King Josiah went against him. And Pharaoh Necho killed him(Josiah) at Megiddo when he confronted him.
God tells us inRevelation 21:8what will happen to those who refuse to change.
8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (No more chance for repentance, rebirth or even forgiveness here!)
Isaiah 55:11explains why Josiah's efforts were not rewarded.
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall notreturn to Me void(God decreed He would destroy the world), but it shallaccomplish what I please(there is no stopping it!), and it shallprosper in the thing for which I sent it. (this is a spiritual law!)
Spiritual laws cannot be changed any more than the physical law of the universe. With that in mind, let's look at how God sees the world today and how He instructs man in this age.
4 Adulterers and adulteresses(those that are not faithful to God)! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the worldmakeshimself an enemy of God. (God says He sees even His people as enemies, calls them adulterers and adulteresses that befriend the world!)
27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
II Corinthians 6:17 warns,
17 Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, saystheLord. Do nottouch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” (Don't let your mind, your heart, touch or taste of the world in any way!)
Romans 12:2tells man,
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind(with the knowledge of God), that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (We are to be evidence of God's Kingdom and His will.)
Apostle John said, I John 5:19
19 Weknow that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. (So stay separate!)
Even of the world's religious systems He says in Revelation 18:4,
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest youshare in her sins, and lest youreceive of her plagues.
II Corinthians 4:4
4 whose mindsthe god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
Once again we see our only hope is in Jesus! Without the Passover Lamb we are condemned and hopeless.
InJohn 15:5Jesus says,
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and Iin him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (We can do nothing and we are nothing without Him!)
Revelation 21:3-4speaks of this restoration.
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
54 Whoevereats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.
56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My bloodabides in Me, and I in him.
