Rejoicing In The Law Series
Part 1 Part 2

Matthew 7:22-23
22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' (This is the church!)
23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'
Yet I have heard people say "we are not under law", and they therefore give no more thought to it. But, if the law of God is no longer important, why is it that those that have no law are called "lawless", and are to be condemned and will perish? Let us read II Thessalonians 2:7-9.
II Thessalonians 2:7-9
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
And let me ask this, why does the Lord tell us, "if we love Him, we will keep His commandments"?
John 14:15
15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Hebrews 10:16
16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,"
Paul told us we are to establish the law, but how can we establish something we are not aware of?
Romans 3:31
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.
The laws of God are for our good. They set us free from the world and its master. They set us free from pleasures that break the laws of God. They set us free from harming one another, ruining relationships between husband and wife, children and friends. In the Strongs Greek dictionary the number for commandment is 1785 meaning injunction, precept, authoritative prescription. Injunction means "ordering a given action to be done". Precept means "a direction meant as a rule of action or conduct, law, a written order". So, if we love Christ we will be obedient to His rule of action or law.
Now let us read Hebrews 8:9-10
9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD. (This is the law we are no longer under.)
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
II Corinthians 3:3
3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
Those that do not obey the law, or the lawless, cannot be trusted by God or man to do the right thing as they do what pleases them. They oppose the law of God, because it demands behavior contrary to what they want to do. They know in their hearts they are wrong for the laws are there, but they ignore them, block them out of their minds, and willfully do as they please.
The church will tell you "it is not under the law", but do they understand what they are saying? We must remember, Jesus was moving the church from Judaism to Christianity. Paul was convincing the early church to come out from under the law delivered at Mt. Sinai to Moses. The faith of Judaism is based on the law of Moses, and obedience to it determined their destiny. We are not under that law. We are under the grace of God for our salvation, but for the victory of Christ to manifest in our life, we must be governed by the law of God. Remember, the law of God is direction for the rule of action. I realize at the same time many do not know what the laws are and so break them out of ignorance. Nevertheless, the laws are there and so the wheels of justice grind over the church, because she is without the law of her husband. She is lawless!
She, like old Israel, has been demoted, divorced, and called a harlot as she is under the law of another, the law of Satan. The Lord re-named her Babylon. Those that do not understand the law of God and walk according to the world's standards are unfortunately a part of her. Her children are fashioned after their father, Satan, and groomed by him into his image. They are therefore both good and evil. The trumpets are blowing however, God is explaining His law and making His covenants known. He is calling those that choose to be His family, His Bride out of Babylon.
Revelation 18:4
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
Those that are obedient to His instructions are trained and prepared as a combined body of one that He can function through to renew this world, the earth and all on it, back to its original state of perfection.
This body must be very in tune with the law or commandments as God has had a plan for the restoration even before the earth was formed and His laws, if followed, will enforce this plan, setting all of creation free. Those that refuse and remain lawless are ones Satan gathers and shapes into one body also, one he can use to come against the body of Christ. As the obedient body is the body of Christ, so the disobedient one is seen by God as Anti-christ. Though one in body, there are many members, yet the church, as a whole, is looking for one man.
I John 2:18
18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.
The Antichrist spirit hates God's leadership, so those around us who are lawless and do things their way, absolutely cannot stand to be obedient to leadership. They hate rebuke, they don't want correction and they want to choose their own leaders, either ones they can manipulate and control, or ones they admire with attitudes just like them.
Hebrews 13:17 states the law concerning God's government.
17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
The lawless are rebels that dwell among us, making an easy entry to the camp of the righteous for Satan. The enemy operates through the lawless to bring sickness, poverty, anger, cruelty etc. right into God's family. They are cracks in the hedge of protection prayed around God's people by His government. God's family is inclined many times to blame the Lord for their sickness, lack of funds, failure, etc. when in reality it is the lawless that live in their midst allowing the enemy's entrance.
The lawless must be marked or noted as non-conformists to God's commandments and are certainly not to be used for God's work as it will fail. If used in a place they can influence others, they will certainly reproduce themselves! We truly do not want more like them to build an even stronger body of Satan! If we want to be the church victorious we must keep His commandments, obey God's laws.
I John 3:22
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
You see, scripture is the written will, the word, the thoughts of God. To be willing and obedient ones we must know them very well. Jesus is the Word, He is the will and thoughts of God that was encased in a human body so the world could see to follow His course. He is Torah, the Law. To love Him, we must obey Him. He is the Tree of Life, the Bright and Morning Star announcing a new day of restoration and victory over man's lawless failing systems.
Next week we will continue to look at lawlessness examine spiritual law, for now let us close by reading again II Thessalonians 2:8 and Revelation 22:14-16.
II Thessalonians 2:8
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
Revelation 22:14-16
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star."
