BAPTISM
WHY DO WE STILL HAVE GRAVEYARDS

People are crying out to God every day saying "if we are forgiven of our sins, then why are we sick and dying?" They ask, "did Jesus not suffer and die that we may live?" "When will God's people be glorified?" Why are funeral homes still in operation and prospering? Here are some answers to these questions. Yes, Jesus did die on the cross that our personal sins might be forgiven, but do you realize that our old carnal man (our Adamic nature) can never be forgiven! Personal sin and the original sin are two totally different kinds of sin. Think about this: If it was possible for the Adamic race (those born to Adam) to be restored to their original perfect eternal state, then why did Jesus say that if a man was not born again he could not see the Kingdom?
John 3:3
3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
I ask these questions because most of what is known as the church today is still Adam! They must be made aware of this. Why? Because the true body of Christ is not going to be fashioned after Adam. It will be formed out of those who are in the image of Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:47-48
47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.
Oh yes, many have been baptized, but how were they baptized? Since continuing the human race depends on our staying alive, Satan has fed much false doctrine to the church, and many are baptized incorrectly, so they will die. If he can keep humans in a cursed spiritual state, then there is the hope that through nuclear warfare, etc., we will annihilate ourselves completely, leaving him forever owner of this planet.
Since there are so many different ideas about baptism, how can we know if we were baptized properly? How does the Bible instruct us to judge a situation? By its fruit! So let me ask this question: When you and the people around you were baptized, was there a lasting change? We must be very honest with ourselves. If not, then why? See chapters 1 through 3 in our book Highway of Holiness for answers to the questions on proper baptism.

NO CHANGE

Out of all the false doctrine, here is one of the biggest factors for the lack of change: we lead people to the Lord, but we do not teach them that they must be sanctified before baptism. Sanctified means to be separated. Separated from what? As we saw from previous lectures, we must be separated from the cursed race of mankind, and be born over again. The promises of God belong only to the separated, born again. Let us look at a familiar scripture,
2 Corinthians 6:17-18
17 Therefore "Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you."
18 "I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
There is no other way. Originally Adam and Eve were new creatures just like we are after baptism, created in the image of God and perfect. That is until they sinned and were birthed into the image of Satan. Let us pose another thought. What if Adam himself after the fall could have been baptized, but after coming up a new creature again, he immediately returned to the garden and his same old lifestyle. Even though he was immersed in water, what state would he be in? I mean, would this not make all that Jesus did for him on the cross be of no consequence, and the pain and humiliation the Lord experienced be for nothing in this case?
Also, if Satan again misled Adam through the same evil influence of his wife, would this not result in the exact degenerate conditions as before? Would not the result be the same as in the garden before baptism, with the same promised punishment, the curse of death? Jesus died so we could be freed from our sinful nature through baptism. But, we must separate from who we were as the cursed race of man so we can die in baptism and be born an entirely new creature, a first fruit, acceptable to God and in a position to be blessed as we mature.
Romans 6:6-7
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
7 For he who has died (in baptism) has been freed from sin.
As studied in earlier lessons, God warned Adam he would surely die if he sinned. He and all his descendants have been cursed ever since in that they have lost their immortality and dominion. We today want to be glorified, to regain immortality and reclaim our deed to the earth, but like the scenario of Adam, we tend to return to our old ways, old friends etc. after baptism, and therefore bring the same old charges against ourselves. In fact, if we went down in baptism still attached to Adam in the first place, we come up the same as we went down and there will be no change in our nature. We would still be Adam and cursed.
Or here is an even worse situation to be in: if we have been taught correctly and we do understand separation and are then baptized correctly, but return to the world and our old ways, we become the twice dead, like those found in Jude the twelfth verse:
Jude 1:12
12 These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots
How can we die twice? All humans are born spiritually dead in Adam. That is once. If in baptism we are reborn, but we return to our old ways, the same dead spiritual state will come about again. That is twice! We can say it this way: if, as a new creature, we behaved exactly as Adam did, we will return to our place in Adam. The death penalty would be brought back on us. We die twice! This is a very sad condition to be in according to Hebrews ten.
Hebrews 10:26-29
26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins (the cross is to allow Adam to be born again),
27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries (these become enemies of God and His people).
28 Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot (took advantage of the cross, was born again, but returned to the cursed race), counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified (or set apart from the cursed) a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
We have discussed this before in earlier studies, but it is so important to understand our need to be separate from the world that it seemed prudent to mention it again.

WE MUST WALK HOLY

Adam and Eve were warned that they would die, spiritually, and eventually die physically, if they sinned! We are being warned today. Again, let me reiterate: the curse of death was in fact executed on them, and all their descendants after them. So when we are born again, we must choose to walk separately, in a new way, different from the path traveled by the children of Adam, or the same will happen to us and new graves will be dug daily. This new road is called the Highway of Holiness. Please, once again, see our book Highway of Holiness for direction to this road.

THE KING'S HIGHWAY

The majority of the church does not want to walk the King's Highway, however. They like the well used trails that lead to the pleasures of this world. The world's broad highway is easier to walk in than the little used Holiness Road. Here is God's highway.
Isaiah 35:8-9
8 A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, shall not go astray.
9 No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; it shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there,
Walking Adam's paths leading to the world's highway allows us to compromise scripture and be a little disobedient, but as much of the church says, oh well! Does God not say we are to forgive 70 times 7? So that must be how many times we can sin. And is it not clear that God loves the world?

THE REAL TRUTH

God does not love the systems and pleasures of the world! He loves humanity, but not who and what is leading the majority of it. He loves His people that are scattered throughout the world and is calling them out of the systems of Adam and into His Kingdom. He knows His sheep, and His sheep recognize His voice and are obedient to answer as He calls. They are coming now, and will very shortly come at a much faster pace as we get closer to the end.
Revelation 18:4 is a familiar warning,
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, My people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. (He's calling them out of the false religions of this world that God calls Mystery Babylon, and out of the systems of man, led by Satan, that He calls the Beast).

THE FATHER OF ISRAEL ONLY

Did you realize that God is the Father of Israel, and that the only way to be His child is to be born again? Did you also know that the promises were made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the forefathers of Israel, and that only God can make a way for His chosen ones to be their seed in the end time. He calls, they answer. He gives them new life after death in baptism, and resurrects them as new Israel. The name Israel means: powerful prevailing prince, one who rules with the Almighty, soldier of God.
Galatians 3:26-29
26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Now let us look at Jeremiah 31:1.
Jeremiah 31:1
1 "At the same time," says the LORD, "I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people."
God is the God of the family of Israel. It is Israel He is calling out of the nations and teaching them to be born again. It is this born again seed of Abraham that He will keep covenant with and bless, not the natural Hebrew who is born a part of the cursed race of Adam! Our bloodlines will not get us to paradise.
Jeremiah 31:7-9
7 For thus says the LORD: "Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations; proclaim, give praise, and say, "O LORD, save Your people, the remnant of Israel!"
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the ends of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and the one who labors with child, together; a great throng shall return there.
9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters (truth), in a straight way (the highway of holiness) in which they shall not stumble for I am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn.
Ephraim is symbolic of the ten lost tribes of Israel that were scattered throughout the nations. Their descendants are being called out today and taught how to be born again. They have crossed many times over with the nations, causing mixed natural bloodlines. However, it would be in this way that the promises God made to Abraham could be fulfilled.
Genesis 12:3
3 I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Also, at the same time, the promise that "all Israel would be saved" would be fulfilled as well.
Isaiah 59:20-21
20 "The Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob," says the LORD.
21 "As for Me," says the LORD, "this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants' descendants," says the LORD, "from this time and forevermore."
Isn't God good?

BUT OUR OLD MAN MUST DIE

Romans 6:3-9
3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him (or us).
Now let us look at 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 to see the cursed race.
1 Corinthians 15:21-22
21 For since by man (Adam) came death, by Man (Jesus) also came the resurrection of the dead (those who die physically: to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, but also He resurrects those that die in baptism).
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
Then let us look on over to verses 47-49.
1 Corinthians 15:47-49
47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust the second Man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust (as Adam), we (who have been resurrected from death at baptism) shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.
Spiritual death (like Adam experienced) leads to physical death. The reverse is true: Spiritual birth at our resurrection from the grave of baptism results in physical life, or puts us in a state where our bodies can (in God's timing) be glorified! Only through being born through God (not Adam) can we become the children of God and be incorruptible. Which tree is your family tree? The tree of Good and Evil (Satan), or the Tree of Life (Christ)? We cannot be both. An evil tree cannot produce good fruit, nor a good tree evil fruit.
The trumpet is sounding a clear message: Come out of the world, and do not touch the unclean thing. Be born again!
1 Corinthians 15:50-54
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood (or our carnal bloodline) cannot inherit the kingdom of God nor does corruption (the Adamic race, our old man) inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: we (the separate, born again) shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed (glorified)
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound (truth will be spoken), and the dead (who died in baptism) will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (Not die, but be transfigured into immortality).
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."
We will have no more need for graveyards!
