A Deeper Look At Simchat Torah
Colossians 1:16-17
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
So let's remember, in Him all things consist.
Now let us read Ephesians 1:10
10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
Now do you see that He will gather together in one all things in the heavens as well as on earth (in Him)? What I want to show through this message, is that all things, in the end, will be one in Christ. Satan understands that if this is accomplished, all of his dreams of supremacy will go up in smoke so to speak. The one thing that can assure him more time to fulfill his decrees at Isaiah 14, is to keep all things divided. Since all things were created by Christ, the whole universe is his target, he will therefore do his best to bring division in every way possible. For instance, heavenly rules were broken as he introduced the daughters of man to the heavenly angels, resulting in the crossing of species. He beguiled Eve, causing her to choose his knowledge over the Word. This divided God's Kingdom from its establishment here on earth. Adam and Eve were now destined to living their lives through this creature that was devoted to seeing all things divided so he could rule over them. Thus the earth was broken into countries, counties, cities, nationalities, governments etc. Those of us born into his world accepted it all as normal. But, as we saw in Ephesians 1:10, in the end all things will be gathered back together as one in Him. Also, as we saw in Colossians 1:16-17, all things consist in Him, or all things are sustained by Him. Everything is a part of Him. In other words, Christ is the substance of all things, all things were created from a part of Him. Therefore, all things are interrelated in one way or another to become a whole, or to become one.
In Genesis we see Father talking to His Son, telling Him to make man in their likeness, in their image. He created man out of a part of the planet and blew His breath into the man, again making him part of Himself. This means everything that He created after that, or that was created even before Adam was a part of Him. Again, I'm trying to show that all things are a part of a whole, or a part of Christ. As an example, we see where Father asked Jesus to make a light that would bring life and light to our planet during the day, and the reflection from that light created a moon that would give light during the night. That light emanated from Jesus. Now let's look at John where Jesus told His disciples, the Father is in Me, I am in Him and we are in you.
John 14:20
20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
So can you see our relationship to the Creator of all things, making us related to all other created things also, a part of the whole, or one with all things? Father foresaw all this happening with Satan and the first pair before it became reality and predestined a plan to restore all things back to Himself in spite of Satan's decrees that he would take His place of supremacy. This plan was made easily visible to earth. Both man and all creation, including Satan, could simply see it as they looked up into the heavens.
Psalm 19:1-6 reveals this to us.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.
2 Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge (the message of restoration and Christ's victory is in the sky).
3 There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices like a strong man to run its race.
6 Its rising is from one end of heaven, and its circuit to the other end; and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
So there is a diagram of God's plan for restoration that is a door to victory for mankind that nothing can change, nothing can conquer and only the Lord holds the key. It's all in the stars. As we read down through verses 7-11 of Psalm 19, we will get a glimpse of what we must do to bridge the division of our planet from the universe and once again make creation one with its Creator. So let us dissect these scriptures to give us a clue of how to get to the victory.
Psalm 19:7a
7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul (obedience to God's law will convert our soul man that Satan has shaped to his image);
For ease of understanding God wrote His laws on our hearts and our minds.
Hebrews 8:10
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Psalm 19:7b
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
Because he who believes is guaranteed the perfect result, as the Word is absolute.
Malachi 3:6
6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
Hebrews 13:8
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (absolute).
Psalm 19:8a
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
God is perfect, therefore His laws are perfect, and if we would just obey them, follow them like a roadmap to live by, we too could be perfect. The reason we are trapped in Satan's world today, held captive by his systems, is because Adam and Eve did not obey. If we follow the history of man through the ages, we will see they were constantly out of sync with God because of their disobedience. As an example let's look at Jeremiah 7.
Jeremiah 7:22-24
22 For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices.
23 But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, andyou shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’
24 Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.
Deuteronomy 28:1
1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
God has been telling man throughout the ages, that if we would hear His voice and obey, we would be blessed, things could be reversed.
Let us look at Luke 11:28.
28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
Psalm 19:8b
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
I John 3:21-22
21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
So as we can see, if we follow the law, it will guide us in our endeavor to walk the road to victory. Ezekiel prophesied of this very thing thousands of years ago.
Ezekiel 20:19-20
19 I am the Lord your God: Walk in My statutes, keep My judgments, and do them;
20 hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’
Jesus said at John 15:10,
10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
In fact the Word tells us if we love God we will keep His commandments, so our disobedience, our worldly attitude of “I do it my way” has resulted in the world we live in today.
Psalm 19:9a
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
This is probably the reason why there is so much disobedience today, there is little or no fear of God. That word fear can simply mean to be in awe of God, but at the same time we can plainly see that our disobedience, our lack of love for the Word and obedience to it, can lead to our demise. God is a God of love. But He created man as part of His family in His likeness, and it angers Him when man walks contrary to the way he was created. Father said at Genesis 6 that He was sorry He even made man, resulting in the destruction we saw in the flood of Noah! Look what He did to Sodom and Gomorrah, and how thousands of Israelites died at Numbers 25:6-9 because of the disobedience of one man taking a woman from among the pagans. So we can see we may do well to hallow the name of God, to respect our Creator, to allow ourselves to be perfected and restored to our original perfection and in His likeness. We can all walk with Him, or make the same choice Adam and Eve did, who obviously lacked the fear of God and walk with Satan.
Proverbs 1:7
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 9:10
10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Psalm 33:8
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
There are those that would say that is the Old Testament God, but as we brought out before, God changes not, and Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever!
Matthew 10:28
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Can you see the need to know God better, to rid our minds and hearts of the knowledge we've gleaned from this world and develop a love for God's knowledge? How can we be in awe or love a God we don't know intimately and as His children, fear disobedience to His rules, to His laws, to His ways?
II Corinthians 7:1
1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.]
Psalm 19:9b
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
Mankind today is so accustomed to operating through their intellect based on the knowledge of Satan that it is very hard for them to comprehend God's ways cannot be twisted around, nor can His personality be controlled. He is a Rock of perfection, immovable. How could we possibly doubt His judgments? For those that are used to being guided by this world's morals it may be difficult to comprehend this unchangeable God, but as the Word will show us, He is the great Judge that we will all stand before, not in the shadow of wives or husbands, fathers or mothers or friends, but completely by ourselves. We will have to give an account of our walk as we stand before the Creator of the universe, the judge who sees all things, knows all things, hears our thoughts. If we are found among the disobedient, I promise you, in that day, we will fear Him and wish that we had kept His commandments!
Romans 14:10-12
10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”
12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
Revelation 20:12
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
Fulfillment of this scripture will be frightening for those that are disobedient and rebellious, but for those that love Him and keep His commandments, what an awe-inspiring time, frightening only in the sense of being so small in the presence of our Father, our Creator! Is this thought not a reason to want to be perfected and changed through our obedience to His commandments? As we hear and obey, we manifest further as the children of God, those that have become the benefactors of the final feast, Simchat Torah, which means rejoicing in the law.
Let me close with this final scripture,
Psalm 19:10-11
10 More to be desired are they (His commandments) than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward (perfection, restoration).
Our obedience to the laws of God will bring us back into sync with the rest of creation and our Creator making us a part of the whole as we are gathering into Him. May His Kingdom come and His will be done. May we all be a part of the whole!
