SPIRITUAL CLOTHES
Part One
Apostle Jacquelyn Fedor
We might ask ourselves, are we spiritually dressed in the fashion outlined by the Lord for His Bride? As the church awaits the beckoning of the Lord to re-enter His garden, are we dressed in the required royal robes, or will we still be found naked as were Adam and Eve after the fall? The church is rapidly moving from Christianity to the age of immortality. We must make sure we are fully and properly dressed for the new season.
NEW TREND
Our old clothes were good enough to attend the feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits and Pentecost. In fact, we were dressed O.K. for even Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles. But, to be chosen as an intimate guest and invited to stay for Shimini Atzeret and Simchat Torah, we must be in full array!
The dress code is formal for these final feasts. Only those who are dressed for these special occasions and have their bodies prepared with the special oils given to those that have the approval of God, can ever be a sweet aroma and find acceptance from the King. Will Jesus extend the scepter of righteousness to us as an invitation to join Him in these final feasts? Are we absolutely sure we will not be denied?
For those that cannot answer "yes" to the above questions, or perhaps do not even know what I'm talking about, let me explain.
ADAM
AND EVE WERE FULLY CLOTHED
Before Adam and Eve fell into sin in the garden, they were spiritually fully clothed. Their eyes could see these clothes even as their Father could see them, because they were created in His image. They saw with spiritual eyes or the eyes of their spirit. This also means of course they had His morals. Therefore, they were always dressed appropriately, the way the family of God is expected to dress. When they sinned they lost these clothes however, and they were naked. While their spiritual clothes were on they were not ashamed, but without them their flesh became very apparent and they were ashamed. They were embarrassed and did not want the Lord to see them. They became deceptive and cunning and even hid from Him, or should I say, tried to. You can't really hide from God! We find this scenario recorded in Genesis 2: 25 and Genesis 3: 6-8.
Gen
2:25
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and
were not ashamed.
At this point, because they did see through spiritual eyes, they could see only the Kingdom of God. In other words, they were spirit beings, that had a soul, and lived in a body that had been created to enable them to live on this planet. Their spirit man was in full control of their life. What they sensed was directed by their mind to their spirit, not their souls. So before they sinned, the body was clothed appropriately for the spirit realm.
Gen
3:6-8 shows us the result of their disobedience however.
6
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was
pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took
of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he
ate.
7 Then the eyes of both of
them were opened (their mind
now relayed what they saw to their soul, because their spirit man had
died), and they
knew that they were naked; and they
sewed fig leaves together and made
themselves coverings
(the first man-made clothes).
Now they could see into this soulish realm (Satan's domain) for the first time. They also could see and recognize evil for the first time. They realized their mistake immediately, but it was too late.
8
And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden
in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves
from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the
garden.
God immediately saw they were no longer spirit beings. They were a new soulish mankind that would mature into the image of Satan. Just as He had covered the body the spirit man lived in, He now covered the body appropriately for the carnal man that was governed by his soul. Genesis three discusses this covering.
Gen
3:21
21 Also for Adam and his
wife the LORD God made tunics of
skin, and clothed
them.
SO, WHAT WERE THE CLOTHES THEY WORE BEFORE THEY FELL?
First let me explain that when we are born again, our spirit man is resurrected to new life and our soul begins to take on the spirit man's personality. Our body once again becomes the home of the spirit, as well as the soul. God will again dress the body appropriately for the spirit man, who is in His image and connected to Him. So we will recognize the clothes Adam and Eve lost as they are being put back on us as God restores us to our original state. We will one day be completely in His image again.
To begin our quest to understand exactly what these clothes were, let us look at Psalm 132: 9 and 16.
Ps
132:9
9 Let Your priests be
clothed with righteousness,
and let Your saints shout for joy.
Ps
132:16
16 I will also clothe
her priests with salvation,
and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
So we have
found our first bit of clothing, salvation and righteousness. This
may sound very simplistic, but it is very serious, as we can lose our
salvation and become unrighteous, leaving us naked! We see these
particular clothes again in Isaiah 61: 10.
Isa
61:10
10 I will greatly rejoice
in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He
has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
he has covered me with the robe of
righteousness, as a bridegroom
decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her
jewels.
Did you know that the physical clothing that
the early priests were instructed to wear were symbolic of the
spiritual clothing we are looking for? Take the linen for
instance:
Exod
39:27-29
27 They made
tunics, artistically woven
of fine linen, for Aaron and his
sons,
28 a turban
of fine linen,
exquisite hats of fine linen,
short trousers
of fine woven linen,
29
and a sash
of fine woven linen
with blue, purple, and scarlet thread, made by a weaver, as the LORD
had commanded Moses.
Now let us look at Revelation 19:8
to see what the linen actually stood for.
Rev
19:8
8 And to her (talking
about the Bride of Christ) it was granted
to be arrayed
in fine linen,
clean
and bright,
for the fine linen is the
righteous acts of the saints.
(So linen is symbolic of our robes of righteousness that we acquire
through our walk being righteous.)
What if we choose to not walk totally in righteousness?
1
Cor 6:9
9 Do you not know that
the unrighteous will not inherit the
kingdom of God? Do not
be deceived. Neither fornicators,
nor idolaters,
nor adulterers,
nor homosexuals,
nor sodomites,
ROBES OF SEPARATION
Robes of separation are another piece of the missing apparel. In Numbers, chapter 19 we find another place in scripture that is foretelling this future clothing. God gives the command to kill a "red heifer" and put her ashes in water.
Num
19:2
2 "This is the
ordinance of the law which the LORD has commanded, saying: 'Speak to
the children of Israel, that they
bring you a red heifer without
blemish, in which there is no defect and on which a yoke has never
come.
Num 19:9
9
'Then a man who is clean shall gather
up the ashes of the heifer, and
store them outside the camp in a clean place; and they
shall be kept for the congregation
of the children of Israel
for the water
of purification; it is for
purifying from sin.
This
water, with the ashes of the heifer in it, is called interchangeably
the water of separation in the Old King James, and the water
of purification in the Spirit Filled New King James version. So
separation purifies, and purification separates! Think
about this: You have to be separate to be pure, and
pure to be separate. The question is, what are we to be separate of?
The red heifer is symbolic of the dead Adamic Bride (Judaism and that part of Christianity that has become a part of Babylon). The water (symbolic of truth) was to wash the flesh clean of sin and imperfection, and then they were to also wash their old clothes (their Adamic covering they were wearing) in truth also.
Num
19:20-22
20 'But the man
who is unclean
and does not purify himself,
that person shall
be cut off from among
the assembly, because he has
defiled the sanctuary of the LORD
(we are God's sanctuary). The water
of purification has not been
sprinkled on him; he
is unclean.
21 'It shall be a
perpetual statute for them.
He who sprinkles the water
(the truth) of purification shall wash
his clothes; and he who touches
the water of purification shall be
unclean until evening
(because the person he sprinkled was unclean, he himself became
unclean. The next verse shows us why).
22
'Whatever the unclean person
touches shall be
unclean; and the person
who touches it shall be unclean
until evening.'"
God
shows us these things in the natural to help us understand the
spiritual. Now, with all this information above in mind, as you look
with your spiritual eyes of understanding at the garments of those
who followed the Lamb in Revelation 7, and even the garments of the
Lamb itself, we will see they are wearing robes that have been washed
in the blood of the Lamb to make them white. The robes
themselves however, if we look them up in the Strongs Concordance,
are robes of separation. You see, we must be clothed in robes of
separation (our old clothes must be washed in the water of separation
or purification) before they can be made white in the blood of the
Lamb. We are unclean when we touch the unclean, so we must be
separate and remain separate to have our old clothes ready to be made
white. Second Corinthians 6: 17 helps us to see this:
2
Cor 6:17
17 Therefore "Come
out from among them
and be separate,
says the Lord. Do not touch what
is unclean, and I will receive
you."
This scripture is talking about separating
from unclean people.
Eph
5:3-7 shows us who those unclean ones are that we
are to separate from:
3
But fornication
and all
uncleanness or covetousness, let it
not even be named among you,
as is fitting for saints;
4 neither filthiness,
nor foolish talking,
nor coarse jesting,
which are not fitting,
but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this
you know, that no
fornicator,
unclean person,
nor covetous man,
who is an idolater,
has any inheritance in the kingdom
of Christ and God.
6 Let
no one deceive you with empty words,
for because of these things
the wrath of God comes upon the
sons of disobedience.
7
Therefore do not be partakers with
them.
Verse seven is worth repeating again:
7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Here
is why we are not to associate with them. Look at Isaiah's warning to
the unclean.
Isa
59:2-6
2 But your
iniquities have separated
you from your God; and your
sins have hidden
His face from you, so that He
will not hear.
When
people walk in these things, how can they think they hear from God or
that it is His anointing they are operating in? The unclean are
people that may know truth but won't walk in it, so God allows them
to be fooled by Satan into believing the lie that they are still O.K.
with the Lord. But here is what God feels:
3
For your hands are defiled with
blood, and your
fingers with iniquity; your
lips have spoken lies, your
tongue has muttered perversity.
4
No one calls for justice,
nor does any plead for truth.
They trust
in empty words
and speak lies;
they conceive evil
and bring forth iniquity.
Here
is why we don't want to be connected with them or even want to be
touched by these ones!
5 They hatch
vipers' eggs and weave
the spider's web; he
who eats of their eggs dies (spiritually),
and from that which is crushed
a viper breaks out.
The
viper can be us if we don't have someone sprinkle the water of
separation or purification on us (in other words, tell us the truth
about separation) and give us the chance to wash clean our clothes
that have touched this kind. We will be spiritually naked, as far as
God is concerned, if we don't do this! See verse 6.
6
Their webs
will not become garments,
nor will they cover
themselves with their
works (righteous works or robes of righteousness);
their
works are works
of iniquity, and the act
of violence is in their
hands.
They are naked
just like Adam and Eve were, and this nakedness happens for the very
same reason. They won't stay separate from those that are a part of
the tree of good and evil. Note also in the above scripture, that
misleading others is in God's mind an "act of violence".
Now with all this in mind, let us look at the church with her false
doctrines and lies, because God says to separate from it also.
